Frequently Asked Questions
Commonly asked questions and their solutions for the URX Core75.
Why is RGB Brightness lower in Wireless Mode compared to Wired?
Enable Max Brightness mode using Fn + F (Only for BT/2.4G mode).
Why are my RGB colors different from software?
Those color changes are caused by the blue/cyan tint of the switch. There is no fix for this other than changing the switches.
RGB LEDs cannot produce true white. To form white, they combine Red, Green, and Blue, resulting in a color very close to white but with an always present blue tint.
When paired with the cyan tint from the switch's top housing, white (configured in software) will look like blue/cyan on the keyboard (since light passes through the cyan housing).
VIA crash in custom Per Key RGB Mode
- This is a known issue, that colouring keys faster (in Per Key RGB Mode) can sometimes crash VIA (especially in wireless mode). This is an issue from VIA's side, hence not fixable by us.
- To "fix" this issue, just reload the VIA website or use URX HUB to configure Per Key RGB. We have fixed issue in URX HUB
VIA is not working
- Ensure you are NOT using any external USB hubs. Ensure that conflicting software like SignalRGB and OpenRGB are not running in the background. Delete the Website data and Reload the VIA website. Alternatively, you can use URX HUB.
- VIA on 2.4G (wireless) is experimental only and can be buggy in certain cases since QMK and VIA were originally made for Wired Keyboards only.
VIA/URX HUB not working on Linux
On most Linux distributions, you need to configure udev rules to grant your user account permissions to access the keyboard raw HID interface. Run the following command in your terminal to create the udev rules file for URX devices:
cat << 'EOF' | sudo tee /etc/udev/rules.d/50-urx-hub.rules > /dev/null && \
sudo udevadm control --reload-rules && \
sudo udevadm trigger --subsystem-match=hidraw

Once the rules are reloaded, unplug and replug the USB cable for the changes to take effect.
VIA is not detecing in Bluetooth Mode
Both VIA and URX HUB only support Wired and 2.4G mode.
Can I change the function of the Knob?
Yes, you can assign whichever function/key you want to the knob using VIA or URX HUB. You can assign 3 actions, Rotate Clockwise, Rotate Anti Clockwise and Press the Knob.
Battery life is short / draining quickly
RGB LEDs have very high power consumption at high brightness which reduces the battery life. Please reduce the brightness or turn off the RGB.
How do I charge the keyboard?
You can charge the Core75 in Wired, Bluetooth, or 2.4GHz mode. Connect the keyboard to a power source and charging starts automatically, regardless of the selected connection mode.
Is the Fn row on this keyboard same as my laptop keyboard?
No. The Fn keys on the Core75 are independent of your laptop's Fn keys. They function as separate keyboard inputs that can be fully customized using VIA or URX HUB
How do I factory reset
- Hold FN + Space and a red light will start blinking rapidly. Ensure that you do not release the keys until that light is gone and the keyboard has completed the reset.
Why does pressing Right Alt show as Left Ctrl + Right Alt in Windows?
In QMK firmware, the Right Alt key (KC_RALT) is configured as AltGr (Alternate Graphic). Windows natively interprets AltGr as pressing Left Ctrl + Right Alt simultaneously to facilitate special character access on international layouts.
For more details on QMK keycodes, see the QMK Basic Keycodes documentation.
Entering Bootloader Mode and Recovering from Bricking
-
If a firmware update fails or the keyboard becomes completely unresponsive, you can trigger a hardware bootloader jump:
- Unplug the USB cable from the keyboard.
- Set the back switch to OFF (Center).
- Hold down the ESC key.
- While holding the ESC key, plug the USB-C cable back in.
- The keyboard will enter bootloader mode (LEDs remain off). You can now safely flash the firmware using QMK Toolbox.
